Welcome to FCC - (First Charity Cars)
We here at FCC have been in the auto donation business in San Jose since 1994. We are contracted with (14) local non profit organizations to handle their auto donation programs. We schedule and pick up donated vehicles which are brought in and inventoried. The cars are then cleaned up, reconditioned, and then sold, usually at a local auction. Sixty percent of the vehicle sale price revenue goes directly to the foundation the car was donated to. The remaining forty percent goes to FCC to cover overhead and expenses.
The auto donation program at FCC has been very lucrative for our family of non profit organizations. We have received several letters commending us for the funds we have generated for their organizations. Moreland Education Foundation has informed us that we are by far the best fund raising program they have ever tried!
Donating your vehicle helps the community and YOU. Your vehicle donation is a 100% tax write off which is usually fair market value. The donation process is simple and painless. Simply fill out a donation form for your favorite non profit that we represent. We will contact you, usually within forty eight hours. We will set up a day and time that fits into your schedule to pick up your vehicle. Upon pick up of your vehicle we will provide you with a tax receipt from the non profit you have selected, an on the spot appraisal in an amount we guarantee, and a release of liability form. The release of liability form is a two page form. One copy is for you, the other is a post card that you simply add your information to and then drop it in the mail to DMV. Our driver will need the keys, certificate of ownership, and your signature on the Bill of Sale. If you do not have the certificate of ownership we will provide a duplicate title application form that you will need to sign. Our driver will then bring the vehicle back to our facility for clean up and reconditioning. We have a six million dollar insurance policy to cover the transporting of our donated vehicles, so there is no need for concern once the car has left your hands.
We accept most vehicles, running or not. As long as the vehicle still has a value after tow/drive expenses.
All of us here at FCC look forward to serving you and our community with our auto donation program.
Sincerely, Rick Shirley |
